Number of scholarships: 85 scholarships for under- and post-graduate studies in Romania

Qualification criteria:

1. Foreign citizens coming from all the states of the world, except for EU member states. Foreign citizens of Romanian origin and those belonging to the neighbouring historic Romanian communities benefit from other scholarship programs.
2. The applicant for the scholarship must not hold Romanian citizenship, did not request or did not obtain a form of protection in Romania, is not a stateless person whose residence on Romanian territory is officially recognized according to the law, is not a member of the diplomatic corps accredited to Bucharest or member of family of the diplomatic corps accredited in Romania, has not benefited from a scholarship from the Romanian state on the same course of study.
3. The applicant for the scholarship must present study papers issued by accredited / recognized educational institutions, have good results in education, respectively an average of the study years of at least 7 (seven) corresponding to the scoring system in Romania or the “Good” score, as the case.
4. The applicant for the scholarship is not, until 31 December of the year in which he / she was nominated, more than 35 years of age – for bachelor and master studies and 45 years respectively – for doctoral studies or for postgraduate studies.

The registration period begins on 14 December 2018. The candidate should enquire at the diplomatic mission where he intends to submit the application file about the enrolment calendar. The deadline for submitting the application files is established by each diplomatic mission.

Foreign diplomatic missions accredited in Bucharest will submit their application files to the MFA – Public Diplomacy, Cultural and Scientific Directorate (DDPCŞ), accompanied by a verbal note, by 15 March 2019.

Incomplete or non-compliant dossiers with the fields of study and methodology are considered disqualified and will not be evaluated by the MFA committee. The files of the rejected candidates following the evaluation of the MFA and MNE committees are not returned.

The Goethe-institute and the University of Bielefeld issue a call for application

For a complete grant with the aim of the participation in a vocational training of 14 days in the department of chemistry of the University of Bielefeld (Germany) in March 2019. 
Topic “Understanding natural science (in particular chemistry) by the experiments – The competence based approach in the teaching of natural sciences” 

Criteria of eligibility:

• Be at least 3 years old of experience in teaching
• Be officially registered in the MINESEC 
• Have a very good English level (language which will be used during the training in Germany)
• Have participated in one of the two education seminars organized in 2018 in Yaounde and Bafoussam is an asset.
• Be active in other domains than teaching
• Have the profile of a trainer 

In case of approval of this project: be ready to organize at least 10 seminars education seminars of two days on the whole of the territory until the end of 2020. In case of validation of your application form, you will have to commit to it by contract. (You will benefit then from following advantages: Standard salary in your country for the days of training, daily allowance for the days of journey, the travel insurance, the traveling costs, the expenses of accommodation, and reimbursement of expenses for the purchase of equipment, the transport costs). 

Grant and fees covered extents:

• Fees of the journey for Germany and traveling fees inside the country
• Traveling fees for the visa application and, where necessary, fees of visa engendered
• Assistance in the visa application procedure
• Accommodation / restoration- Package deal of insurance for people abroad
• Intercultural Seminar in Goethe-Institut by way of preparation 
• Daily allowance according to the German law on the journeys abroad
• Certificate of participation delivered by the University of
• A complete kit including of the equipment intended for the experiments 

Expenses excluded for the obtaining of passport and the vaccine against the yellow fever, obliged for Cameroon.

The 2019 TechWomen application is now open

TechWomen participants are selected based on the eligibility requirements below. Applications are reviewed by independent selection committees composed of industry leaders and regional experts. Semifinalists may be interviewed by United States Embassy personnel in their country of permanent residence.

Be women with, at minimum, two years full-time professional experience in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) fields. Please note that internships and other unpaid work experience does not count toward the two-year professional experience requirement.

Candidates should have journalism experience or be passionate about switching to journalism from technology/IT, economics or the sciences. We are looking for open-minded people full of creative ideas.

The program covers the range of skills a journalist of the future needs: TV moderation, multimedia storytelling, data journalism, social media and virtual reality – in seminars, workshops and of course the DW editorial offices and our correspondent bureaux in Washington, Moscow and Brussels. DW trainees are involved in long-term innovative, international projects and have been honored in past years with the CNN Journalism Award and the Grimme Prize. After the traineeship, the trainees usually continue to work for DW.
